Read 'em and weep
SO. I’m not off hiatus yet, but… if you missed my post on the CR Meme last month, Tonegawa’s staying true to his word and holding that poker game after all. I just thought I should gauge interest again and see if people are still up for it.
FOR THE NIGHT ITSELF: He’s going to be keeping things low-stakes to try and keep the peace a little, so there’ll be no minimum bet. That said, as I mentioned before, Tonegawa will be cheating towards the end of the night. He’ll be using his powers (convincing people that whatever he says is true for around fifteen seconds) to make people believe that the trash hands he claims to win on are actually of a much higher value, then reshuffling the cards before it wears off. The more he does it, though, the weaker its effects will be, so anyone and everyone are free to call him out after a few rounds!
If anyone else wants to pull something off as well, you’re very welcome to! Just say so here so anyone who could figure it out/ who would like to be tricked/ whatever can know about it.
ALSO: any idea of how to set things up? I’m not sure how to go about it without everyone having to play through a whole game. Sub-headed threads, maybe, with different things happening? Or like a pre-post mingling thing?
If you didn’t say anything before but want to get in on this now, you’re very welcome to just sort of turn up. So long as you aren’t obviously just trying to start trouble and call him up before hand, Tonegawa’ll probably let you in. I’ll be putting up a log on Wednesday or Thursday!
EDIT: I totally forgot about the outbreak, so I'll be pushing this forward to early June. Sorry about that!

- When the cheating starts Claire will likely cotton on to it sooner or later (definitely to the fact that cheating is happening, possibly to how it's being done). His eldest stepbrother has a bad habit of cheating at cards so he has some experience with it...
- After that he's unlikely to sit back and let it happen, so he'll either be playing card sharp to even things out a little or just getting lippy/table flippy about it.
- He could also be given a reason to go in cheating. He doesn't have much incentive to now, but I gather that certain parties he knows are predisposed to antagonise the host.
QUESTION: is this going to be set during the guilt outbreak or dated to before/after that?

But ahhhh I'd completely forgotten about that. Damn you hiatus! IN THAT CASE, I'LL PUT IT FORWARD TO JUNE. Thank you very much for letting me know. I'm dumb. ♥

HAH NO WORRIES ♥ this gives me more time to learn how card games with more than three types of card in them actually work...

I only learned how to play poker recently myself! Shut up I only play games with tiles. .__.

sob I only play games with buttons. No chance of convincing Tonegawa to hold a classic Smash Bros tourney?
Actually I'm kind of looking forward to learning poker.no subject
oh oh I can play button games. If the buttons are related to tiles. BUT LOL to be fair to him, Mario Kart is more his era.

WELL. Once the effect starts to weaken, Raul might take notice. And he'd be pissed. Mostly because he's not that great at poker, and if someone starts cheating, he'll really lose a lot of money.
As for setting it up, I think having sub threads would be good? Sort of like how we did the NPP meetings.

He doesn't have to worry about losing money, btw, unless he's really going to be betting a lot? After making an ass of himself with the whole Pride thing Tonegawa's going to be keeping his own bets relatively low.
BUT YEAH that would work for sure! I wasn't sure if it was going to be big enough, but awesome. B)

BUT YEAH UH. Raul would bet a lot. Unfortunately. He'll be losing a lot of money by the end of the night.

I mean - she played a part in a super high-stakes Texas Hold 'Em game in her canon where she and James Bond stopped funds from reaching a terrorist organization.
But she'd be interested in watching the game if for a bit of nostalgia. She knows all poker games well so she wouldn't just be sitting there, looking pretty :]

Tonegawa just isn't pretty enough. As Chane-mun suggested, there'll be a general mingling thread for during the game.no subject

A pre-game mingling log would be good to kick it off, maybe both a thread for outside the building (smokers...? security?) and one indoors just before the game. Is there anything you want to enlist Chane in specifically, other than just making sure nobody reacts violently to him cheating? |D Or- specific orders? There is a possibility she would catch on to the cheating using her power and talk to him, although she wouldn't say anything to anybody else, so if he wanted to prevent that (or you wanted to enable that!!) let me know. /vaguehands

(AND YES that is a very good idea. I think it might get a bit hectic if it ends up in the same thread, depending on how many people end up watching, so a separate thread might be a better idea.)
