NEWCOMER HUNT WHIPLASH PLOT

Hey there, everyone! It’s RW again, this time with a plot that may hit a little bit closer to home than hostile kitchen appliances.

As some of you may recall, two Newcomer Hunts took place at Spencer’s Hunting Grounds before a group of self-styled vigilantes invaded the grounds, torn them up, and sent Spencer off to the hospital. Well, now it’s payback time, and Xigbar’s going to be the one to do it.

For those of you who don’t know Kingdom Hearts canon, there are several different types of monsters in the KH universe -- Heartless, Nobodies, Unversed, and Dream Eaters. For the purposes of this plot, only the Heartless are relevant. A Heartless is what is created when a living being loses their heart (the source of all emotions) to the darkness, and while there are naturally-occurring Heartless, there are also the sort than can be artificially created, in varying levels of strength.

How is this relevant to you? Well, Xigbar has decided to engineer some of these nasties and unleash them on the unsuspecting populace -- or more specifically, the ones who have managed to get on AGI’s bad side.

The critter you’ll be facing? Looks like this:



For a better idea of what this nasty thing is capable of, check out this video. It won’t be exactly the same, but movement through shadows and the ability to camouflage its otherwise colorful self comes in the package. It’s very agile and basically handles itself like a very large, particularly vicious attack dog.

That’s where things gets messy.

If your character was involved in the attack on Spencer’s Hunting Grounds or has otherwise made themselves a target of AGI, please fill out the following form:

How would Xigbar know this? <b>Level of Damage:</b> Basically, do you want your character to encounter this monster and escape, become terribly maimed, or die?

CLARIFICATION: Because Xigbar is the one ICly organizing this horribleness, there has to be some IC justification for him knowing about characters' offenses against AGI. If you're not sure if he would know -- he generally hears things through the grapevine at AGI, the Newcomer Network, or via his own peculiar spies -- just ping me, and we'll sort things out.

Also, just so everyone knows, there is no cap on how many people can participate. I will be leaving sign-ups for this open for one week. Once everyone is all signed up, I will figure up a timeline so things aren’t too smushed together.

I should also mention Heartless cannot be defeated by purely physical means. Magic or some other kind of supernatural power is required to combat them so if your character only has regular guns, bullets, and knives, they won’t be able to put a dent in this monstrosity. I do, however, expect it to be destroyed by the end of the plot and (possibly) for Xigbar to get ID’d as the one behind it. I’ll address that issue once I have a timeline for you guys to look at.

Reason for Being Targeted: Was kind of the organizer of the vigilantes, despite not being present at the attack.
Level of Damage: Injury but escape via her new archangel buddy, Raphael! (Permission acquired for this.)

Does the involvement with AGI have to be explicit? Because Lisbeth and Claire Stanfield have actually killed off two AGI employees who were involved with the hunt but only themselves and two other people know they did it.

IT'S BEEN AWHILE SINCE I'VE PLAYED KH so I was wondering if this was something they'd sense.

It has to be something Xigbar would be able to find out about?

In that particular case, I don't think he'd know, BUT I know Claire has snuck into the corporate building Xigbar and the Organization is based out of so it's possible that may be reason enough if Claire-mun is up for it.

i actually have spoken with Kern about Claire and Lea possibly teaming up for some monster-hunting shenanigans and she said she's interested in the plot overall, but she's been kind of tied up and hasn't had a chance to really hash anything out with anybody yet. so i know she's interested! as am i! so if i/we can facilitate anything let me know and i can play go-between if need be, since she's on UK time and i keep bizarre hours.

If at all possible, I'd like her to check in, but I am definitely down with some monster hunting shenanigans!

I've also been considering opening up an option where people can just be random targets if they're out after sirens since...well. The creature will be more active at night, and Xigbar isn't going to stop it from taking a chunk out of someone if it really wants to.

I'm still developing ideas for the structure of an actual log (since I will be tossing up a catch-all open thing for encounters with the critter), but I am all for some Axelea-Claire monster huntings!

Reason for Being Targeted: Bruce was doubtless caught on the hunting grounds video feeds metamorphosing into the Hulk and the damage that the Hulk wrought would be impossible to miss.
Level of Damage: Anything short of death is fine. The Hulk has excellent regenerative capabilities.

Reason for Being Targeted: Aurican was the terrifying gold dragon that set fire to Spencer's land, and he attacked Spencer personally.
Level of Damage: Aurican can be hurt, but I prefer him not to die, as he already did that.

Reason for Being Targeted: He was involved in the raid on the second newcomer hunt and was caught on tape back then.
Level of Damage: Maim the hell out of him. Since he can't die.

Reason for Being Targeted: She did a lot of open talking back when people were getting together for the raid on the hunting grounds. She's been careful about locking things since then, but she was also probably caught on camera at the time, too. The cameras just didn't show her wings because she was wearing a coat over them. She was also openly very close with Shikamaru Nara, who has caused a lot of problems for AGI in the past even if he's not around anymore. She was also in the first hunt and made it out mostly unscathed.
Level of Damage: Hmm. Nill is good with a gun, has airbending, telepathy, and time-stopping skills. What do you think would be a reasonable amount of damage? I'd prefer for her not to die, so she could probably manage to stop time once she was banged up enough that she couldn't get away on her own and get away like that.

Considering the creature's strength and speed, and tendency to attack without warning, I think Nill might possibly get swiped by a claw, which...could be fairly devastating, depending on where the strike hits.

I'm totally cool with her stopping time long enough to get away, though!

Ohhh, maybe across the front? Massive bleeding, but if it hits higher up there shouldn't be too much organ damage... I'd say down the back, since that's slightly less life-threatening, but sadly she can't regrow her wings if one of those gets lopped off.

Reason for Being Targeted: She was involved in the attack on Spencer's Hunting Grounds, she was seen discussing it with Mary on her post (even if she didn't explicitly say she was going) though during she actually disguised herself. You can pretty much make the leap that she was there XD
Level of Damage: Seras will FIGHT it. Super-tough vampire wielding shadows and such against a shadowy monster. I'm not against her dying if it comes down to it, idk how familiar you are with her canon (and I don't know KH at all) to guage her power level versus this things.

I'm kind of familiar with Hellsing canon! I can totally see a shadow showdown of sorts taking place -- she might get swiped by it a couple times, but I can see her holding her own long enough to get it to back off.

It's like a big dog; whack it on the nose enough, and it'll go away. :V

Reason for Being Targeted: The Angelus attacked the hunting grounds with the others. Dani wouldn't be recognizable, but since she's out in the Darkness often enough as the Angelus... Yeah.
Level of Damage: Maimed and ripped open, all that good stuff. Everything but death is acceptable to me! Dani will fight back and she has the magic/power/light to curb it...but the Darkness also makes her light weaker, so it's easily possible for this thing to really tear into her. (I am cool for signing her up for the eventual takedown if no one else volunteers.)

Reason for Being Targeted: He sort of destroyed half the hunting grounds and took part in the actual fight with Spencer. I imagine Xigbar picked up his name from the less than secret plotting that went on in Mary's post.
Level of Damage: Injury is totally fine, though it's exceptionally hard to kill Castiel and as he'll have his hellhound (and possible Crowley and Growley as well, I'd have to plot with PR) with him he'll be able to fend it off more than well enough not to be killed. He could also be the one to destroy it if needed. :3

Level of Damage: A bit knocked about, Loki heals fast and is sturdy, but he's also ace with the magic.

Reason for Being Targeted: She assisted in the destruction of the hunting grounds, and discussed it on private with Mary, but with minimal security beyond that.
Level of Damage: Maiming, possibly? I assume the heartless are able to rip through her specific brand of flesh, so losing an arm she'd have to painfully reattach later, and general gouging everywhere else.
