August Activity Check #31

Hello, all! Welcome to the 31st activity check for Siren's Pull!

The Activity Check is something that will be happening every month, just to check in with players, make sure that all the characters who've been accepted into the game are participating, and get a quick rundown of what characters are up to!

Some Activity Check guidelines:

1. Any character who fails to reply to the Activity Check will be removed from the game for inactivity, in order to free up the character for someone else who may wish to play them. You have ONE WEEK to reply to Activity Check until we post the removal list.

2. Any character listed as on hiatus on the Hiatus Page will be exempt from the Activity Check. PLEASE USE THE HIATUS PAGE!
REMINDER If you are going to be on hiatus the entire length of the Activity Check period, please check in before you leave. "Retroactive" hiatuses will not excuse you from checking in!

3. In order to apply for more than two characters you have to give a link to a completed Activity Check on your next application.

How to Pass the Activity Check

All you have to do to pass the Activity Check is post a link to one of the following that has occurred within the past 3 weeks (since July 25th):
- An entry your character has made on sirenspull
- A log in which your character has participated on sirenspull_logs
- A comment thread on sirenspull in which your character has posted 10 or more comments
- An action log in which your character has participated on sirenspull that is 5 or more comments long, total
- Note: IC Contact threads do not count towards your activity check because it is not publicly seen on the game communities.

Additionally, we'd like a short rundown of what your character is currently up to.

This doesn't have to be a long summary, just a general idea, and you're more than welcome to keep secret plots secret, so long as you give us something.

If you can't make activity check within the last three weeks there is still the seven days that AC's are open to post. This gives you four weeks in a month to post at least once.

AC closes at midnight on August 21st. Please get your post in before then, or you will end up on the list!

Brief Summary of Character's Plot: The second Newcomer Hunt sent Jesse (among many others) out for revenge. Sadly, with no useful battle skills, he was stuck driving a getaway car on the night of the attack on the grounds. He did, however, provide useful powers to Mary and Nill. He also began financing Lois's Newcomer News, even providing her with studio space using some of his connections in the shadier neighborhoods. His ongoing power-stealing at college parties and clubs had some negative consequences, spawning an investigation into the effects of liquor on superpowers, but no one's yet linked him to the phenomenon.

He's met new people again, and is quickly becoming friends with Willow Rosenberg. He's been hiring people to work at the Cat's Eye, so he'll be getting to know a handful of new people that way too. A lot of his CR has left lately, but he hasn't gotten to the point where he's bitter and uninterested in making friends yet. He's taken on a new job as well, and it pays well enough that he'll have plenty of free time to deliver pastries for Ciel's bakery free of charge, since he has a debt to Gilbert that needs to be paid off.

Brief Summary of Character's Plot: Laying low was still the word of the day, although he had been stretching out his feelers and speaking with more people over the network... through anonymous text only. He actually gave Willow his name for her magical circle meetup, the first person outside of the small circle of Darkling and Nobodies to know of his return even if it meant nothing. He finally spoke with Xemnas, closing the circle of those "need-to-know" people being educated about his return and his feelings on what came before. Things look like they may be coming to a head, though, and change is on the horizon...

Ever since the first hunt Nill has been trying to find ways to make herself stronger. She regularly goes out in the darkness now, trying (and failing to some extent) to kill monsters and improve her aim with not only one gun, but two. She's also been training daily to get stronger physically, learning to use knives, and she even bought powers from Jesse. She went as far as to consider making a deal with Kyubey, but has turned down the idea for the moment. Nill is angry, and her search for power continues

Willow finally got her job! She's happily getting the magic shop ready to face the world, and once she's settled in and can work out how much wiggle room she has, she's going to start possibly looking into making some protections against the darkness. Noting that they could be destroyed by sunlight, she is attempting to work on a spell to make a minature ball of sun, just like she did in canon! Though this time with less Troll.

Willow has also found Genesis in Buffy's Body and Buffy in genesis' body and has been told: FIX IT. so... now she's just being like: WTF NOT AS SIMPLE AS "FIX IT." SO THERE MIGHT BE SOME HILARITY THERE 833
