But he's also glad Warren is there so he can try to help what happened - he doesn't know if this will change anything back home, he doubts it will, but he's so glad he has the chance to do so.

He's really really worried about him. And he cares about Eric, but he can't help but he peeved at him. Because he warned Eric and Eric wouldn't listen. It bothers him, a lot. He really does see Eric as an emotional teenager despite his age, and he knows how unstable that can make you.
But he also feels sorry for him. Because he's been there, and he knows how much it hurts - but he hates Eric's mentality of "we're so different nothing you've been through could compare".
