FROM TONEGAWA... at first, Tonegawa was happy to write Claire off as an amusing but somewhat needless addition to his phone-book, someone to know only because of his relationship to Chane. Over time, once it started to become obvious that Claire was smarter than he immediately let on, he started to enjoy chatting to him in a casual way- he's clever and quick with his words, after all, and as much as it irritated Chane he couldn't quite resist a little debate here and there. Perhaps because it irritated Chane in some small part, actually, given how she'd been behaving of late. Then he found out that he was close to Kaiji, and... well. That's dropped him down in his estimation by quite a way. Where he could overlook Claire's obvious failings, he's starting to find himself thinking of the man as a compatriot of Kaiji's own little gutter world- on his level, in any alarming number of ways.

FROM WARSMAN... he likes you, Claaaire. You're a nice, friendly person and you seem pretty happy to carry the conversation, which immediately makes him feel less anxious; he's not much of a talker, after all. You've made a couple of comments here and there, but it's obvious that you didn't mean them- maybe your mouth runs faster than your head, and he's more than used to that. It helps, of course, that you're sizing up to be an interesting opponent in the ring. There's nothing better than fighting people you've trained alongside- especially friends. Which he sincerely hope is what you are. A friend.

MS. ELLEN. Warsman thinks she's a really nice person- he's not used to people who don't already know him deciding that he's worth seeing, so she came as a nice surprise. She's easy to talk to and don't seem to mind his general uncertainty, even if there are fairly obviously subjects they're both skirting around for now; he won't ask about the husband if she doesn't ask too much about the mask. He also hopes that she doesn't think it was patronising of him to offer her an escort home orz

HELLO THERE PHIBRIZZO. Tonegawa wasn't sure about Phibrizzo at first- taking on the attentions of some precocious brat was hardly high in his priorities, after all- but he's turned out to be something of a surprise. He's smarter than he initially gave him credit for, for one thing, and a little more vicious: excellent soil for a potential businessman, as it happens. Part of him, admittedly, also rather enjoys taking on something of a mentor role- it provides an excellent massage to his ego, after all, to feel that he has something of worth to impart to a budding entrepreneur.

Phibrizzo appreciates the advice Tonegawa has to give and will probably avoid telling Tonegawa his real age as long as he can. The economy and technology are very different in his world, so he does actually like having someone that he can go to for suggestions on how to handle his business.
