So.

Basically Ishida is stuck with the fact that Ichigo will pretty much have his back for anything and everything, even if he may gripe and make snide comments about it in the process, the bottom line is Ishida is one of Ichigo's Very Important People (even though he will never admit to it out loud and would deny it vehemently) and he would trust him with his life. They've been through a lot, Ishida has proven himself as an ally and a friend to him and then some on more than one occasion, and Ichigo knows that if it comes down to a pinch, they'll be there to bail each other out.

That being said, he does feel like being here there's some distance between them; there's two years of Ishida's life that he doesn't fully understand and he feels like he may need to put some effort in to get to that point. He also still feels he owes Ishida one for the whole going-crazy-and-stabbing-him-in-Las-Noches thing, but by not being especially good at sentiment he doesn't have a clue how to go about getting there, but he fully intends to make up for his mistakes somehow. Just give him time.
