Oh hey another mystery.

That is to say, Vanitas probably senses something very different about who Naminé is, but can't quite put his finger on what exactly it is. There's probably some connection to Kairi that he can sort of discern if he stares and squints, but heck if he understands why. Nobodies were very much a foreign concept back in his day, and his understanding of them is limited - much less special cases like her.

Not that he knows that Naminé is a Nobody to begin with.

From their few encounters in person, Vanitas sees Naminé as a very melancholy sort, which is something he views as a weakness. If he had the chance to use it against her and probably her friends, he would do so in a heartbeat.
