How's My Driving: Con-crit & Pos-crit!

This post is for providing Constructive AND Positive feedback for fellow players regarding how they play their characters in Siren's Pull.

Constructive criticism should be just that - please avoid bashing or being rude. If you have critique for a characterization, please support it as much as possible and offer as much help as you can to the player. Remember - the point of the HMD Meme is to help fellow players, not to discourage or insult them. This goes for both giving and receiving critique.

Positive feedback is a genuine compliment or other positive aspects of how that character is played. Please avoid empty praises or general fangirling/fanboying, and try to give a viable reason that you're complimenting the fellow player - well thought out compliments always mean more, after all!

If anyone notices anything going wrong on this meme, please get hold of a mod via IM, PM, or email and let us know right away so we can deal with it appropriately.

This month, Joe discovered that one of his closest friends is actually a duck (and taught her to cook pasta), was invited to be a vigilante superhero, stubbornly sulked at his manager for offering to pay off his debts, laughed it up at drunken friends, and just recently hit his 2-year mark in Port.

Daedalus has been being a workaholic as usual, taking pause to show Haruhi Suzumiya around the natural history museam, and watching it 'come alive'. Romdeau's Proxy is in the city, and so he's been lying low and making a point to greet some of the other newcomers, but his warier concern rests with the potential impulses of Re-l's reactive Amrita cells. He finally learned about his boyfriend's freaky afternoon with Undertaker back in December, is neatly dodging rumors surrounding one of his working colleages (Magneto) and continues to promote healthy habits.

Jesse arrived in the Port straight from Mexico, elated to be free from slavery to the cartel and to be living in a place full of superheroes. The magic didn't last long, though, because he was also forced to face the reality of supervillains. A humiliating encounter with Sylar was enough to break his hope of creating a better life for himself. Although intent on remaining sober, he immediately went to work on scraping together a new meth lab. After discovering some of Joker's abandoned laboratories, he cooked up a new product: a mixture of meth and Joker's toxin that he calls "Green Glass".

Yosuke stole some of Shikamaru's V during his binge last month, got himself really high for all the network to see, and as a result landed Shikamaru in a whole lot of trouble with both Eric and Uryuu. Shikamaru left home to lay low with Seras for a while, waiting for things to blow over on both fronts. Meanwhile, he spent more time with Souji, who remained blessedly unaware of Shikamaru's seedy activities and therefore provided much-needed company free of judgment and conflict.

Kanji continued to be caught up in the ongoing romantic drama between Kurt and Blaine. He was torn between his own selfish desire to try dating Kurt again and the feeling that it was much too soon after such a serious break-up, that Kurt needed more time to make a decision with clarity. However, the two did finally reunite one passionate evening. And the next morning, Kanji woke up to find a romantic gift waiting for him: a box of chocolates... from Naoto.

With the arrival of Proxy One, Re-l's Proxy powers are kicking into high gear. Stressed and without much of an outlet, she's stuck between a rock and a hard place. She's still training with Slade Wilson, is keeping an eye on Joker, and is now talking about setting up a spy network with Smiley.

Coming off of last month's session with Seward, Alice is out of place and is trying to regain her footing. She's been tending to the orphanage children and Bad Stuff is about to go down. She's also been trying to speak to friends and reconnect with them after her withdrawal.

Atlas arrived! He spoke to some people, gave his song and dance, and is currently trying to poke around for a job...and connections to the companies. He's watching people and looking to see what he can do to make a quick buck.

Raul has been dealing with the influx of new people in the port! One of them was, unfortunately, Proxy One, and so he destroyed his apartment in a fit of anger and despair. He also put his foot in his mouth more than once. He’s made a post welcoming all the Newcomers, organized the Citizenship Test, and kicked off talking about the Newcomer Elections. He’s lost some good men and women at Lion’s Gate and within the NPP, so he’s going to be opening spots there for anyone who needs a job and wants to get involved. There will be an application to fill out in the future.

Tenma got caught singing and baking on the network, so he’s been keeping a low profile lately. He’s got some new roommates, though! And he’s trying to help Jubilee through this trying period, while wondering how he should feel about the whole thing anyway.

Tim recently came out of an intense drug addiction, and so he’s been slowly getting back into being semi-normal again. He’s back into working out, with or without friends, and he’s been doing more city wide searches, instead of staying in one general area as Red Robin. He’s started to recruit other like-minded individuals out there; he’d love to create a Teen Titans group in the city, with all kinds of kid heroes. He’s started working full time at Violet Systems, and he’s living with Cass, Blaine, Tavi, and hopefully Kon, now that he’s here! Which is something he is incredibly excited for. He’s getting back into photography, so you may spot him on the streets, taking pictures.

Death is now the owner of Mugshots, a bar in sector four, right across from the police station there. She and Slade are both in charge of the Bounty Hunting Business, and the new system is going through Mugshots. There’s a scoreboard with the name of every bounty hunter out there, and what they could win each week if they have the most bounties collected. The other one, the wall, is where all the bounty’s rap sheets are hung on, and taken by whoever wants them. Other then that, Death has been pushing several young men to be all that they can be. She offered to pay for school, here, for Finn, and told Santana that she could lend them space to sing in the bar. She’s trying to come up with ways to get more publicity about bounty hunting out there, while playing laser tag with Roxas all day.

Snow’s been doing a lot! She’s writing an article about masked vigilantes in the city, which will be in the news in three part segments. She’s talked to Harry Osborn about helping the Triple Threat Girls with the Newcomer News Network. She’s also revealed about how much she misses her sister, to Elaine, and now has two Vikings living with her… which she isn’t too sure how that happened.

Having only arrived in the Port about two weeks ago, Proxy One has already caused a big kerfluffle amidst his canonmates. He's also creeping a bit on other non-humans, making friends with vampires, and in general trying to figure how he'll fit into the big scheme of things in the city.

General Feedback: Since it's the first big plot I've run here, I'm curious about how I've done with the Wiles of Memory Plot thus far. Also, the bounty hunting system in general, which has undergone an overhaul in the past few months -- do you guys like it, hate it? All suggestions are welcome! o9

Yosuke has taken up being a greeter, moved to his own apartment, and somehow got suckered into sharing it with Keigo and some kind of horny monkey thing...er, by which I mean Keigo's dear friend that guy Yosuke didn't ask the name of. Yeah. Other than that he got rejected in his advances on Claire, and has been obnoxiously phoning people he knows just to chatter at them because he's lonely. Though he'd prefer them to assume he's just being friendly! He's also planning to start an open mic night at the Cat's Eye, so that next time he asks a girl out she'll swoon with desire for the awesome guitar riffs he's hitting them with, naturally.

...Basically he's still being a teenager, and thus trying his damndest to pretend he's an adult instead.

Hit me with whatever you have, guys. I'm still newish and trying to work out the little bumps and bruises. I'd love some thoughts if anyone has 'em!

...I also feel like I should probably apologize to anyone who got stuck with this kid as a greeter. It's a learning process, I swear. He'll get the hang of it one day!

He's expressed interest in becoming a citizen even though he's not sure how it works exactly, and is still willing to paint a mural for Raul. Besides that, the usual.

You write a flawless Finn and I cannot stress that enough. The way he dealt with Rachel's death was so believable--as well as how he handles everything in the Port, really. You never lose sight of the fact that you're writing a sheltered teenage boy, and I really admire that.
