Youko might be infected, all depending of many factors. There is a gem she has (and her supernatural resistance) to fight it off, but she has a low self esteem and a poor self image of herself (alongside with repressed suicidal tendencies). She will probably use the gem to fight off the disease since it heals her.

Elaine will be staying on the sidelines only stepping in for personal friends and family when they feel too sick.
