I bring you plot things, old people and new people alike!
Hey everyone, Amy here! Player of Raul Creed from Ergo Proxy, Doctor Kenzo Tenma from Monster, Tim Drake from DC Comics, and Mr. Gold from Once Upon A Time. First I wanted to say hello to all the new people! I'm always up for plotting something, and I've got characters on different ends of the spectrum, so if you ever want to do something with medical things, politics, the black market of the port, or a group of teenage superheroes, please let me know, I'd love to do something with you and your characters. Raul here is head of the Newcomer Political Party, so he's always on the lookout for people who could help with that, and Tim is running the Teen Titans, so anyone who's kid/teenager and wants to help out? A lot of helping out with different things, Mr. Gold is creating a villain network of some kind, so he could use more bad guys to recruit for that.
Onto the plot! After not doing much of anything for the past month, I bring you some hopefully interesting plot. And by interesting I mean could be hysterical for some people, or make a lot more really, really mad. The deal is this:
Re-l Mayer is going to be trying out a Proxy power which hasn't gotten used a whole lot yet. The power is an illusion type deal, where you see whatever the Proxy wants you to see, which can also extend to being able to touch whatever they want you to touch. Because she has a wicked sense of humor, Re-l will be trying this power out on Raul, who will be unsure what is just real life and what is just fantasy. While I can't find a video of it, Raul will be walking around holding onto the walls, like someone might do if they're really dizzy and still trying to walk. Holding onto walls, finding something to grab and hold on to as you look around and try not to fall; Raul will be acting weirdly and doing all of this. He's not dizzy, but he is going to be figuring out what is real and what isn't, by what he touches.
Which is where you come in. Raul's Core-given ability is the power to keep someone in one place by his voice. This isn't something he's used a lot, and he prefers not to, but because he's not in the right state of mind, he's going to be forgetting all about it. Raul is going to be walking around the city, and anyone he sees, be them friend or stranger, he's going to ask them to shake his hand.
Two options with this! The first is your character shakes Raul's hand, and they part ways, with nothing happening. The other is that your character could refuse to shake Raul's hand, in which case he'll tell the person to stay where they are until they shake his hand. He will then leave, with the person being unable to walk more then a few feet away in any direction, much like being stuck inside an invisible box. An invisible box that they will be unable to get out of for hours. That's basically the plot, though there are a few guidelines with it:
1. If you want your character to be stuck in a place outside, they will not be out there during the Darkness. Raul's command will only last for a few hours, and all of this will be taking place hours before siren, leaving your character plenty of time to get inside. While they can't walk more then a foot in either direction, they can still talk to people, yell, whatever they want; they just can't move from that spot. Anyone who tries to move them will also be unable to move them from that spot.
2. Your character probably won't know that it's Raul doing this, since the command only takes affect about ten to fifteen minutes afterwards. It will seem crazy to your character, as it should be! This could be a problem with the Core, or some kind of attack; whatever your character might want to think. There are some people who will be trying to help, and you can bet the group will be catching up with several of Raul's "victims" and trying to fix things.
3. Doesn't matter if your character has been here awhile, or brand new, Raul will ask them to shake his hand, so anyone can join in!
4. This will only be taking place in a few sectors; Sector 2, Sector 3, Sector 4, and Sector 6.
Mostly it will be around Lion's Gate, the Newcomer Apartments, and the Newcomer Community Center, but Raul will be wandering in a daze for a little bit, so anywhere in those sectors are welcome.
And that's it! If anyone has any questions, I can answer them here, and if you guys want to plot anything out, you can do so here as well. Just remember, this isn't something that will hurt your character, but it'll definitely be scary for a little bit when they first realize what's going on. The log will go up on Sunday, and we'll figure out which sector Raul will happen upon your character, and if you want it to be on the street or inside a building. Can't wait for this to happen, I hope everyone has fun with it!
