She's not the boss of him! >|

Jeez, Lisbeth. Hmm. She was his first (okay only shut up) and he was so ready to just fall in love with her and go to the ends of the earth for her and all that silly crap. It was definitely a real sucker punch to him to realize she had love, and it wasn't his. He didn't even really understand that casual sex was a thing until he was knee deep in it. So, she definitely unintentionally broke the hell out of his heart.

He actually meant to break it off with her as soon as he realized she was in love with Jesse, but then the hunt happened and by tge time he was healing up after it his best friends all died and disappeared. When he went to see her he couldn't manage to speak for once, but she took him to bed and just held him, which was a big deal to him. It wasn't the sort of thing someone who didn't care at all would do, so he decided they must somehow be friends too.

And then the Jane parade began, and for a while he had hope that Lisbeth would realize Jesse didn't love her either and come running to him, but then that didn't happen and then he pissed her off and made her walk out last time they saw each other and after that he'd been sort of sitting around feeling gross about it but not sure what to do. He didn't get a chance to get past that with her because she was hospitalized right after, and then he vanished.

So this is a big can of worms that he will remember he needs to deal with when he first runs into her again. Unlike Nill, she didn't follow him into his dreams in his home world, but suffice it to say that Lisbeth is the woman who has had the most impact on his life so far. Even if it occasionally ends in stitches or antacids. He still cares more than he knows what to do with, but he also knows deep down that she'll never love him, and that sadly, he's the kind of guy who needs to be loved back right now.

How soon he acts on that is a different question.

Naaah he needed to learn this lesson from someone. Lisbeth did it without any malicious intent, and she cares for him in her own way, right? That's way better than you get from random bar girls! He doesn't regret this, he's just coming to the conclusion that it's not what either of them want.
