Welcome to our July plotting meme!

Game Calendar:
This is tentative game plot calendar for the month of JULY. If you have a plot in the works that you want to bring up now, so everyone can be involved, please mention it below.

If you're plotting ahead for something which will affect a significant number of people, like breaking a sewer main in a Sector, shutting down a frequented location, causing a lot of widespread status effects etc, please let us know early so we can give everyone a quick rundown idea of what's going on when. This is also to help keep from too many plots from stacking up on top of each other.

That'd be cool to explore. What kind of powers does she have and how/why is she concerned about the Darkness?

Powers first, since it feeds into the concern: I pulled Aoko in from another game, where she became a magical girl to counterpoint the thief that her father has been chasing for most of his life (unfortunately that thief turned out to be her childhood friend, but she didn't know that at the time). Her powers are a tongue-in-cheek, named for magical cliches, but essentially she can throw explosive coins, summon birds that feel like punches when they land, and fly. She's also superhumanly strong.

The power that really started off her concern, though, was Smoke and Mirrors. When that one is used all the way, it can reveal a truth about whoever is caught in it before exposing them to a searing beam of light. (She learned about Joe and Ahiru's identities this way.) She caught a Darkness creature in it too, though, and it very briefly became human . . . and because she didn't know how to control her powers well enough, the attack destroyed the creature before she could stop it.

So she's very much concerned with the idea of the Darkness creatures being human . . . She'll be even more concerned with it as her current plot ends. Back in June, she contracted the virus that was going around, and because it was pretty bad, her thief childhood friend sneaked into SERO and stole a vial labeled "cure." For the past month, Aoko has been becoming a Darkness creature herself at night and attacking others. She has no memory of this during the day except fragmented dreams, but we're currently working on a log where she learns what's been going on.

It stands to reason for her that if people can be turned into Darkness creatures, then they can also be changed back -- and perhaps all of the Darkness creatures were once human or animal. She's disturbed at the idea of what people might be doing as they kill it.

But the common sentiment is that the Darkness is evil and needs to be destroyed, so while she'd like to speak out -- and still may -- she really doesn't think anyone would listen.

Not to mention that she'd have to talk about her experience, and she'll likely have some trouble getting over some shame for that.
