Siren's Port City Slamfest is go!

SO. Given that we’ve got a few newcomer entrants in the tournament, I thought it would be a good idea to get the details sorted out in a little plot post. Only one character can actually win, after all, and I figured we should hash this all out before we get started on any actual logging.

The tournament itself will be composed of eight quarter-finalists. If you haven’t already told me you want in but would like to take part, please let me know before Friday! I need to know how many NPCs to come up with for the tournament. Currently signed up are:

Warsman
Claire Stanfield
Bolin (tentative?)
KOS-MOS

Assuming that everyone here wants to get through the qualifiers, any of the eight slots left over will go to NPCs. NPC fights can also be hand-waved, if you’d prefer. Everyone is free to contribute to this list and play them once we know how many people will be joining in (though if we don’t have enough by the time the qualifiers finish I’ll top them up myself). The more obnoxious and out there the better! Just throw them down below.

Now, down to business. The tournament itself will be happening from the 27th- 29th of September (quarter-finals on the 27th, semis on the 28th and the finals on the 29th), with the qualifiers happening on the 8th-9th. I’ll be putting up a log for the qualifiers on the 8th. In the time between the qualifiers and the tournament, there’ll be extensive TV coverage of the tournament and its competitors, which you can play with as you see fit!

Each match of the actual tournament will take place in a separate ring in Grant Stadium. To win a fight, a fighter must do one of the following:

a) Pin an opponent to the ground for ten seconds
b) Knock them out of the boundaries of the ring and keep them there for ten seconds
c) KO them

Attacking a downed opponent is grounds for disqualification, obviously, as is using telepathic powers to influence or control your opponent’s actions. Weapons are also banned. Other than that, though, it’s everything goes! If you’re not sure about what would be okay, let me know. Also everyone has walk-on music. Choose wisely.

What I’d like everyone interested in competing to do is fill out this form:

Player: Self-explanatory.
Character: Also self-explanatory.
How far do you want your character to go?: Are you happy to have your character fall in the qualifiers? Want them to go through to the semis? Or are you interested in them maybe coming out with the title and the belt, if that would be feasible for them?
Strengths: Your character’s strengths! What could help them win a fight? Let everyone know here so fights can be figured out better beforehand.
Weaknesses: On the other hand, how could they lose? Do they have any weaknesses that could be exploited by other characters?

Other shenanigans?: Since the show is part-reality-TV, there could be a lot of manufactured drama. Interested in being voted Number One Hottest Fighter, getting embroiled into wacky relationship scandals or being hounded for photo-ops by eager paparazzi? Importantly, is there anyone specific you’d like to fight? Ask other players, or mention if you’d rather fight an NPC to start off with!

Once this is all settled, I can put up a plan of who’s going to be fighting who, when, and how everyone will place in the end. Then we can all enjoy a great show-time, choose our destiny, aim for great victoly, etc.

On another note! Anyone at all is free to come and watch the fights! The qualifiers will be aired on TV on the following Wednesday and the tournament will be aired live, but tickets to see all fights in person are also available. Please do turn up and say hi! ♥
