Welcome to our OCTOBER plotting meme!

1. Post a comment detailing your characters, what kind of plot they have going on, what kind of plot you'd like others to be involved in. If you're looking for new types of CR, post up what kind you'd be interested in?

2. Look at other player's posts, and offer your characters up for CR and involvement in plots you're interested in.

Game Calendar:

This is tentative game plot calendar for the month of OCTOBER. If you have a plot in the works that you want to bring up now, so everyone can be involved, please mention it below.

October's a big month for Halloween 'seasonal' events, so if you're planning something big like a costume party log, it's a good idea to claim these dates early! We'll be looking at this to plan our upcoming 'holiday' stuff dispersed between whatever players plan to run.

If you're plotting ahead for something which will affect a significant number of people, like breaking a sewer main in a Sector, shutting down a frequented location, causing a lot of widespread status effects etc, please let us know early so we can give everyone a quick rundown idea of what's going on when. This is also to help keep from too many plots from stacking up on top of each other.

NEWCOMER HUNT WHIPLASH PLOT

As detailed in this plot post, Xigbar will be unleashing a large monster sometime in the next week and a half to attack people who've got on AGI's bad side.

The monster will also be roaming around after sirens so if you'd like to have a random encounter with it, that's possible also!

There will be an open log for this! I'm going to be pulling together a timeframe in the next few days and posting an update on the plot soon.

Some kind of survey under the guise of "random sampling" but those that participate end up going missing or showing up dead somewhere in a ditch. Their memories are completely erased, at least temporarily, and their powers have obviously been tampered with.

Should one be able to open up their body/get an X-ray/whatever, there's a chip implanted in their abdomen that tracks them and can manipulate their powers At will. Like a portable Null or Void that is with them at all times.

So what would happen if AGI killed off the leader of the SERO corp and claimed it was a newcomer and that the only way to get rid of them would genocide/destroying the Core/etc? Or just enough tension between the two factions for it not to be impossible to notice and the pressure to choose a side builds, because SERO doesn't want that shit to happen and AGI really, really does.

There are no current plot plans to overturn the heads of corporate leadership. The temporary power vacuum of losing and replacing those heads would likely directly impact all characters in the widespread economic slide and potentially a more volatile powergrab for The Core. However, this is a plot phase that's going to happen closer to a planned endgame for Siren's Pull, but not something we are looking to be entering right now.

Stirring popular opinion to pull for the eventual destruction of the Core is something mentioned in the FAQ and something that can be presumed as ongoing corporate propaganda from AGI's side, widely known as their position. Because of the government lockdown on the Core has neutralized the conflict, AGI has only been able to rally and petition city hall for this idea, just as SERO has only been able to rally for its research.

However, while they are a publicly unpopular minority, neither company has extended their propaganda to include outright anti-newcomer sentiments. AGI and SERO both can and will still hire newcomers, if they prove to be company assets.

Scapegoating individual newcomers or a known rebel group for a high level management death is something that could feasibly happen in the future, but probably on the individual scale of targeting a few troublesome thorns in their side, rather than the newcomers at large, since they don't see the overall group as a terrible threat. However, if newcomers as a collective whole were to pose a larger scale rebellion and challenge to corporate interests, that could be a possibility.

NPP Halloween Party / Masked Ball

Soooo, it's that time of the year again, when kids get to start dreaming of what they want to dress up as, candy begins multiplying (not just candy corn), and all of the adults want to dress as sexily as possible and drink at parties.

Well, the Newcomer Political Party can help you with both of those things! The first thing the NPP will be holding is going to be trick or treat block party for kids and adults who'd like to have fun. Consider it Oktoberfest for the adults, with different beer distributors and such providing stalls and handing out drinks, which the kids can dress up and go to each stall like they were trick or treating at houses. This'll go on for one weekend, planning for it to happen the 12th or the 13th, to give people the weekend to start things up.

The second is the NPP Halloween Masquerade! It's become a tradition in this city for a club or group to hold a masquerade for everyone as a big Newcomer Halloween blowout. The log will be started on the 27th, but will then go as long as it's needed, pretty much a whole weekend masked ball thing.

Which leads me to what we want: We need people to have carts and vendor stalls at the Oktoberfest thing, and we need kids to come in costume, and people to also give out the candy to the kids! For the ball, we could use a place to hold it (I know the Lux has been offered before, and we have held balls at the community center, but if we have anything else out there, let us know! We could use some help in organizing the whole thing, too, since it's a lot to have in one go.

Raul will probably have a post sometime later this week to bring up these ideas, but I wanted to see what all of you think! Anything specific you'd like to see? Let me know.

Another Halloween Masquerade Ball Thing!

Anyway – for some reason, Xino E. Mao has been all about swanky parties and all that truck for appearances' sake and they are not going to back down on being horribly social and beneficial for the citywide community, connections, etc. Short version: they are having a parteh and you people are invited.

...Thing is, Julian may have a hand in handing out the invitations...but Xemnas will have to handle matters afterward. :|a

SO. It'll be like a costume ball type of thing with fancier details, complete with Nobody nuances. And Heartless. And Dusks. All for show, of course. My head also isn't thinking this all the way through, but hopefully I can brainstorm with people on more of the details. Yes? Yes. JUST SHOW UP it'll be fun.
