Endgame Information

Hello, all. The long-awaited moment has finally come -- the game of Siren’s Pull is coming to an end; and everything must come full circle.

We wanted to give you time to plan and plot where your characters will end up and how you'd like to wrap up their time here. We are currently 9 days from the start of endgame, and 2 weeks from the last day of Siren's Pull Network posting.

The Core, which has long been a temperamental sort of deus ex machina, is about to act up and push into it's germinating stage, ending its dormant period and throwing the entire world into chaos, and it’s up to your character to decide whether to stay and struggle to save this world and warn the mainland of oncoming catastrophe, or take a one-time route out: either homebound, or to many other universes of their choosing.

Here’s what will happen:

Following the expedition to the Core site by several Newcomers (On the 10th) , the Core will start stirring with activity, the area around the diamond glowing erratically and emitting unusual amounts of strange, otherworldly energy. Weird things will start happening around the baseball diamond and the surrounding city blocks: Odd growth of vegetation, shifting earth, and a strange groaning sound, especially during twilight hours. The Darkness is also beginning to spread, very slowly, beyond the scope of the island, and the feeling of sickness that occurs when one gets too close to the shorelines will also begin to diminish.

This will naturally gain the attention of SERO, who once gained access to the Core and studied it. The company will insist upon gaining access to it, recalling their voids with an implanted reset command code, and with the government and city still reeling somewhat from the death of Governor Townshed, struggling SPPD forces will be unable to stop them.

Enter AGI.

Incensed at the prospect of SERO gaining full access and control of the Core, AGI protests, threatening force if SERO does not extricate itself from the Core site. Company tensions will explode into extreme violence on the streets, and regardless of declared affiliation, block by block the city will square off into opposing territories. Make contact with the core and try to expose test subjects to it, or destroy the core- no one seems willing to budge between these extremities, and both companies will recruit by force, some agents flouting all pretense of civility and using mind control or body possession powers. If you would like your characters to become brainwashed soldiers for AGI or SERO, let us know here and you may begin playing them this way as of April 10th. You may resolve this possession ICly however you choose.

Then, on April 15th, AGI, SERO, and any neutral parties trying to stop either group from wresting control will engage in a full-scale conflict on the baseball diamond itself. A bright flash of light will overtake the area, enveloping a two-block radius, and the earth will shake violently as the Core begins to overheat.

When the light clears, everyone within a two-block radius of the core site will have shrunk down to a fifth of their normal size, including SERO and AGI’s armies, anyone who enters the vicinity will also be subject to ‘downsizing’ and a power flux, as supernatural abilities wobble from seemingly nulled to extremely powerful.

A deep fissure in the earth has opened on the pitcher’s mound, and falling into the endless white-blue abyss means certain death for locals. However, Newcomers will feel a strange and compelling pull toward this light, and should they jump down into it, they’ll find themselves in a transparent nexus of portals, ‘cousin’ cores which have seeded themselves through Pulls among a thousand worlds and multiple realities. Through ‘cell’ walls of the Core organism, characters may pass back through on a one-way journey into any world they want. They may linger in the nexus portal until it closes, forcing them into the nearest ‘window’.

However, Newcomers are not the only ones called to this gateway rift in space and time. By night, Darkness Monsters will also be able to pass through this gateway, and it will be up to Newcomers to defend their homeworlds and others from potential invasion, or to usher destruction in.

The Core’s nexus portal will be open from April 15th to April 20th. A plot log will be posted for activity on the diamond, within the Core portal, and at other island evacuation locations. Within the Nexus, NVs will turn into small glass spheres, and be capable of holograph projection only. Upon exiting the nexus, these spheres cannot be used as means of communication, but will turn a bluish hue, and may be sown as seeds in any body of water to grow new Core Islands.

What this means for Siren’s Port:

- The Pull has been lifted as of the 15th. People may now venture beyond the island of Siren’s Port. However, the sea is not without its dangers, droves of locals will also be trying to leave the islands in a hurry with limited space on seaworthy vessels, and any expeditions may meet with a decidedly destructive end.

- ...because as of the 15th, The Darkness Decay Effect is spreading. Slowly but surely, each night the rot is seeping out over the ocean towards civilization beyond. Darwin, Darkness expert, will be giving this grave news to the public. The Core can no longer contain the negativity of it’s curse in one location, and so the darkness is moving out and onward with the intention of consuming everything it touches. Those who realize this may want to move on from the island with the intention of warning the rest of the world, or profit off of sharing Darkness proofing with the rest of the world.

- The structure of the city itself is falling apart. Riots are breaking out, Newcomer hatred is at an alltime high (don’t be surprised if your character is cornered and beaten for sport or worse), and even SERO and AGI seem to be crumbling from the inside out over the advent of chaos. SERO and AGI will both be deploying their security forces to protect corporate interests, and turn on each other with brutal force. Stone and DeDrago’s personal estates, as well as AGI and SERO headquarters will be stormed and ravaged by opposing forces. All who don’t choose a side are at risk of getting caught in the heavy crossfire.

- The Core will no longer resurrect Newcomers once the Core Nexus gateway has closed, and the Newcomer NV network will go offline on 4/20/13.

What all this means for your character:

You may choose one of the following options...

- Enter the Portal. Though this choice may very well get a character home (and the Core itself will be drawing Newcomers back to itself), it also means braving the Core nexus -- an in-between place which branches to similar cores seeded throughout the multiverse. Exiting these windows to a new world will feel like being tugged backward. Your character may take only one portal out, but choose wisely -- it may not lead them home. Homecoming, new adventure- that’s up to you.

- Protect the Portal. Since Darkness monsters can pass through the Core Nexus as easily as a Newcomer can by night, it might be in your best interest to keep those nasties from getting into your home universe. Powers will be unstable while fighting within the nexus space, and may result in being pushed through a portal and into a world you never intend to end up in.

- Stay and Fight. The Darkness is spreading slowly by night and the world has no way to defend against it. You can try to resist the siren call of the pull, and make a stand on the island as it descends into anarchy, and struggle to survive among the remains of the city. After its gateway closes, however, the Core seems very erratic and the island a highly unstable place to live. Death is permanent now, so after the 15th, characters may go out with a bang or a whimper, if dramatic death is your fancy.

- ...so maybe the better alternative is to flee, now that the Pull has been lifted. Characters attempting to leave Siren’s Port can either fly or set sail to the closest mainland cities. You’ll be evacuating the city alongside hundreds of other natives who know little of the outside modern day world. Of course, Vancouver, Canada or Seattle, USA may not be so welcoming to superpowered refugees from another universe, but by now you should be a pro at being newcomers!

- Wait for the End. The island’s destruction is coming, and GW will be heralding it from the rooftops. Anyone who wants to meet him can, though he’ll advise anyone to make use of what little time they have left.

You can use this post to plot for what role you’d like your characters to play in the island’s collapse, and plan for any intentions of leaving the Port alone or in groups, to continue your characters’ personal stories in a musebox, PSL or alternate game continuity. If you have any additional questions about the endgame, please use the first thread as a FAQ.

Thanks again guys, it’s been a great ride,

Sam is going to stay and fight with Dean. Simultaneously he'll try and protect those he can, most especially his family, friends, and Prue. He's going to go down swinging after they're overcome.

If you want interactions or something in particular before or during the fight, please let me know!

Mary, Chuck, and Prue

Chuck Shurley is going home and taking as many angels with him as will agree to go- right now the count is Raphael, Balthazar, and Anna, with some maybes going on. He'll take anyone with him who wants to come, and he'll guarantee them a life free from hideous terrible monsters.

But he's going in the Portal. He has to go and fix the world He broke. Responsible God ;_;

Mary Winchester is going in the Portal. She'll try to stay and fight at first, but when Sam and Dean die, she'll drag John into the Portal and jump holding his hand. They're going literally anywhere else but home. Somewhere tame with lots of Muggles, like Harry Potter or the MCU, and she'll live with John forever and ever and grow old with him and maybe have another kid. Bittersweet almost-happy ending. sdflkjgfh.

Prue Halliwell is going in the Portal, too. At some point she'll be taking on Sam's Hell-induced damage so he doesn't have to shoulder it, and some time around him dying she's jumping into the Portal with Chris, intent on going home.
I plan to take her to [community profile] ryansgulch with game memories and stuff.

I can't promise amazing tag speed, but let me know if you want any interactions or anything between now and then!

Balthazar is going to attempt to stay and fight, but will get dragged off at the last minute by Chuck, with an assist from Raphael, who is known for pulling hair and is therefore no one to be trifled with. 8|

Diego isn't going back to his L.A.. Mia isn't there, and he's not about to leave a pregnant wife. Whatever happens, he's staying with her, though it's likely they will relocate to the IRL L.A. to raise their child.

Raphael will be responsible for transporting an injured Amy. Father and daughter will more than likely head for the portals, looking for a world to call their own.

Sissel will be going home. He'll stick around to help defend it until it stabilizes a bit, then will leap in and head back home. He's immortal, so he's not too terribly worried about where he'll go.

Amy Sorel has been critically injured after encountering the wave of rotgut cougars and kittens, so the decision is all up to Raphael. She'll follow whatever he does.

Lee Chaolan will be closing up Platinum Phoenix Enterprises, but not without speaking with his current staff first and learning what their plans are. He intends to return to his own world. But he also intends to protect the core from darkness monsters before he ultimately leaves.

Genesis Rhapsodos will be brainwashed at his workplace to fight for AGI. At first, he'll show clear dislike for SERO's approach, but it will eventually become violent, and if he isn't stopped, he'll get involved in the conflict at the baseball diamond and be a formidable foe on that field.

Ultimately though, he will hopefully fly away with his friends to another place to live in.

Raul will be trying to figure out what to do for awhile. He's dead back home, so there's no home to go to, and while he said he would stay in the city before, with the way it's going downhill fast, it's not as much of an option as before. He will want to hear from Vesper, Yosuke, Daedalus, Franz, and Re-l to see what they're doing before he makes a final decision. The Community Center will be attacked

Tenma will be helping anyone who decides to protect the portal, but then he'll go through, hoping to go back home. He has things to take care of, there.

Tim might be going home, though he'll probably protect the portal for as long as it's needed, but in the end, he will wait till the last minute. Before he decides what to do, he will want to know what all of the Teen Titans will be doing with all this, and if anyone needs help making a decision, then he is there for them. So let me know what your Titan decides, so Tim can check in on them, and we'll probably do a big group log! Maybe have a meeting at HQ, and maybe a chatter log, too.

Larry will definitely be going home, but before he goes, he'll have one last stand and one last show of his magic power before joining the rest of his friends who have gone on back to their L.A. with crazy murders and ladders and stepladders alike.

So before he goes, he's going to say goodbye to everyone, but once he gets to the portal, he won't enter it yet but will fight with all he's got for a short while before moving onward.

If I've got the event mechanics right, he'll return home with a bang after helping at least clean out the Port.

Sheila will stick around as long as she can before heading home - hopefully to Ash! She'll be healing anyone who needs it with her herbal medicine, and shall be an even sharper little truth facilitator - and will be available for farewell threads and goodbyes!

Eraqus will likely take a stand and assist at the portal, in order to prevent the Darkness critters from crossing over into this makeshift nexus of realities. He'll do what he can to ensure those he's familiar with are safe - or dealt with, depending.

As for how well that works out for him... Well. Eraqus will likely end up crossing through one of those portals once the Core Nexus closes, though where he may end up next is uncertain.

Jake Marshall will be staying in SP's dimension, though it's looking more likely that he's going to move to mainland America with Diego and Mia and protect them. He is going to do everything in his power to make sure that Diego and Mia stay safe. In the ensuing chaos from AGI and SERO, he is likely going to be injured again, but it will not be life-threatening. He will be a lucky son of a bitch. Once he's injured (which I'm shooting for right about the 15th), he'll basically guard Mia the rest of the time until Endgame (assuming Luce is okay with that). Jake is also going to be available for any goodbyes necessary from his fellow Portmates.

France, on the other hand, has to go home. He has a duty to his citizens and that duty is not going to change. He will of course be available for goodbyes and things of that nature before he leaves.

However, two very important things are going to happen with France beforehand! The first is that France is going to reveal his identity as France accidentally on the network in the next few days. This will be the last time for anyone who knows him to learn his identity, ask him questions, all those fun shenanigans. A possible log can also be done for slightly inebriated France later, for those people who never use the network but still want to know (assuming I get enough interest; please comment below if you'd be interested in learning France's identity and what form you would prefer, Network or Log).

The second important thing is that France will be extending an invitation to his world, for anyone that wants to go to basically modern day earth with immortal nation-beings in it. He's going to make it clear however that anyone who wants to start serious amounts of trouble is not going to be welcome. He'll take care of all the legal stuff so that your character can stay as a citizen in France or so that they can move to America or Japan or wherever they need to. That will be going up probably the 17th or 18th if anyone wants to take the chance. Please comment below if you're wanting to take this option for their character, just so I know who's going to be accompanying France into the portals and to his home world.

Oh my. Xehanort will be all too interested to try to locate the most ideal world and enter their portal and carry right on with his plans. He's also not above letting darkness critters into the worlds, after all, it doesn't really hurt. If anything, they would be a marvelous distraction.

Bring it.

Seeing how Jinx is the head of her family of misfit toys (translation: MOM, WHAT DO WE DO?) she and her family (Trauma, Gabriel, Claudio, a live dog, a robotic dog, a cat named Cat, a charmed dogwood chest, Lutz the haunted bread machine, Patrick the sentient fridge mold, a cursed motorcycle, a possessed helmet, and the occasional enigmatic Red X) will be staying in this dimension.

I mean, come on. Imagine her, with her bad luck, trying to drag all that baggage through the multiverse in hopes of staying together and finding a better world. It just wouldn't end well. So, they're going to travel the world via archangel mojo.

They plan on becoming filthy rich, maybe adopting a kid, and they'll try not to cause an international incident, but they promise nothing. If any extended family want to come with them for the ride, they're totally welcome to join the zoo.

Eponine will be staying. She can't go home; she's as good as dead there anyway. Fighting another hopeless battle to the death unfortunately sounds like it might be right up her street. Or rather, watching everyone else fight from a nearby alleyway sounds good to her.

Although, if someone wants to push her into the portal, I am also up for that!

Rue will be running to escape through the portal hopefully to another world hopefully not her own! She really doesn't want to die.

Seras will fight for a while but ultimately she wants to go home more than she cares to fight for this world and will take off for the portal. She'll try to help anyone else she see's get there too.

Roxas will be taking a leap of faith with his besties, but he'll be fighting on his way out. Emotional goodbyes = very yes, though he hopes to make it to a world he can still Keyblade out of at will; that's not guaranteed, as far as he knows.

Nina will go home with Tenma.

Rukia will go home, but kicking ass to keep monsters out of her world alongside Ichigo.

Xemnas is going to be participating in Darkness activities. I think. At least, he'll be around for that long until he either dies, returns home, stays to see things end (because ENDINGS?), or goes elsewhere. I haven't fully decided on his fate, but I'm open to doing any of these things.

Hiccup will be saying good bye to friends unless something sidetracks him from heading back home right away. Probably all the fighting and protecting of portals. I was going to have something terrible happen to him too, but hmm.
