App Cycle Updates & General Upkeep Reminders

Hi there, Kelly mod here with some news on changes to our application cycles.

- We are swapping back to a month-by-month app cycle, starting in September- meaning that September will have a 50 app maximum cap, and apps will be open for another 50 in October. Reserves open tonight, you may reserve 1 character each. If you are interested in joining our Appteam, please contact us by PM.

- As new reserves are coming in, we'd like you guys to check over the Taken Page and make sure you're all listed correctly. If there are any drops we've missed in removal, please let us know so we can make sure spots are accurately open.

- Player Submitted News: We'd really like you to write your own articles, or at the very least give us full news-scoop details of Who/What/When/Where/Why/How, so we're not reporting your character's actions from the seat of our pants. We may add in or edit a few outside NPC opinions for color, but we'd like to get down what happened accurately, so please give us as much as you can! If you can only slide us minor details at the last minute, we will try our best to include them in news, but the report will be brief.

- Body Swap is still going on and you guys have been hilarious, keep it up! Upcoming events for September we're currently tabling include Technological Wonkiness Citywide, resulting in the opening of some Off-Island contact which will function as a Semi-4th Wall Event. Further details will be coming up later in the month.

- Activity Check & HMD/Feedback Meme go up tomorrow night!

This has been a while coming. I thought canon updating would jump start my motivation with Damon Salvatore here but I think it's time to let him go back home. Thanks to everyone he had CR with, Siren's Pull has been a lot of fun with this dbag vampire jerkface! Damon will just be vanishing quietly, nothing gruesome or messy for him.

I will still be in the game with Jim Moriarty (playthings), who is less vampire and more jerkface.

August Activity Check #31

Hello, all! Welcome to the 31st activity check for Siren's Pull!

The Activity Check is something that will be happening every month, just to check in with players, make sure that all the characters who've been accepted into the game are participating, and get a quick rundown of what characters are up to!

Some Activity Check guidelines:

1. Any character who fails to reply to the Activity Check will be removed from the game for inactivity, in order to free up the character for someone else who may wish to play them. You have ONE WEEK to reply to Activity Check until we post the removal list.

2. Any character listed as on hiatus on the Hiatus Page will be exempt from the Activity Check. PLEASE USE THE HIATUS PAGE!
REMINDER If you are going to be on hiatus the entire length of the Activity Check period, please check in before you leave. "Retroactive" hiatuses will not excuse you from checking in!

3. In order to apply for more than two characters you have to give a link to a completed Activity Check on your next application.

How to Pass the Activity Check

All you have to do to pass the Activity Check is post a link to one of the following that has occurred within the past 3 weeks (since July 25th):
- An entry your character has made on sirenspull
- A log in which your character has participated on sirenspull_logs
- A comment thread on sirenspull in which your character has posted 10 or more comments
- An action log in which your character has participated on sirenspull that is 5 or more comments long, total
- Note: IC Contact threads do not count towards your activity check because it is not publicly seen on the game communities.

Additionally, we'd like a short rundown of what your character is currently up to.

This doesn't have to be a long summary, just a general idea, and you're more than welcome to keep secret plots secret, so long as you give us something.

If you can't make activity check within the last three weeks there is still the seven days that AC's are open to post. This gives you four weeks in a month to post at least once.

AC closes at midnight on August 21st. Please get your post in before then, or you will end up on the list!

How's My Driving: AUGUST FEEDBACK MEME!

This post is for providing Constructive AND Positive feedback for fellow players regarding how they play their characters in Siren's Pull.

Constructive criticism should be just that - please avoid bashing or being rude. If you have critique for a characterization, please support it as much as possible and offer as much help as you can to the player. Remember - the point of the HMD Meme is to help fellow players, not to discourage or insult them. This goes for both giving and receiving critique.

Positive feedback is a genuine compliment or other positive aspects of how that character is played. Please avoid empty praises or general fangirling/fanboying, and try to give a viable reason that you're complimenting the fellow player - well thought out compliments always mean more, after all!

If anyone notices anything going wrong on this meme, please get hold of a mod via IM, PM, or email and let us know right away so we can deal with it appropriately.
